When I first stepped into the world of business, I didn’t have all the answers.
Like most entrepreneurs, I was learning as I went.
The difference maker for me was having mentors who were willing to share their experience and help guide me along the way.
Early in my career, I had the opportunity to spend time with people who had already walked the road I was trying to navigate. They had built companies, led teams, and made the kinds of decisions that shape organizations.
They didn’t just share strategies.
They shared perspective.
They helped me understand that leadership isn’t just about growth. It’s about responsibility. It’s about taking care of the people on your team, setting a standard for excellence, and staying focused on doing the right thing even when the easier path might be tempting.
Some of the lessons they shared with me were simple but powerful.
Show up early.
Work harder than anyone expects.
Take care of your customers.
Take care of your team.
Those mentors helped shape the way I approach business, leadership, and life.
Looking back now, I realize how instrumental those early relationships were. Without their guidance and willingness to invest their time, my path would have been very different.
Mentorship is one of the most powerful forces in business. The wisdom that experienced leaders pass down helps the next generation move faster and avoid mistakes that others have already learned from.
I’ll always be grateful for the mentors who took the time to guide me when I was just getting started.
And I hope to continue passing those lessons forward to the leaders coming up behind me.
